Our Mission: Knitting4Peace connects service-minded makers who create and deliver handcrafted necessities to families and communities in need, at home and abroad. 

Our Programs

Since 2006, Knitting4Peace has worked with knitters, crocheters, crafters, quilters, and makers of all kinds to create and deliver quality, handmade necessities to people across the world. We do this through different programs.

Community Partners Program: Many makers within our community mail or drop-off the items they make to our Denver HQ, where we distribute them to our community. Items donated to our Denver location are most often delivered throughout the Denver Metro Area and the State of Colorado.

National Partners Program: Often, our makers and Peace Pods choose to make an impact in their own community and therefore they donate the items they make in their geographical area. They then report their donations back to us so we can track our impact.

International Partners Program: Using a vetting program, we have chosen a few, trusted partners to help us deliver our items around the world. Typically, these partners pick up large quantities of items from our Denver HQ, pack the items in their luggage, and travel with them on their humanitarian trip.

Peace Pods: Peace Pods are groups of makers who band together to create items for Knitting4Peace. They can send their items to Denver for distribution or deliver them in their own area for a local impact.

Individual Makers: Many of our makers are independent souls who choose to create on their own. Like Peace Pods, these makers then send their items to Denver for distribution, or deliver to their local community.

  • If you send your items to our Denver HQ then your items are distributed by K4P staff and volunteers as requests come in. Most donations stay in the Denver Metro Area and around Colorado, but depending on requests they could go around the world.
