The very backbone of K4P is our monthly donors. Folks who give monthly, at any level, provide a source of revenue that we can rely on and that is the greatest gift you can give a small nonprofit.
For years, the K4P monthly donor program has been known as Show of Hands, but we are proud to introduce you all to the K4P Peace Makers!
This monthly giving program offers incentives at each level and will help us build a sense of community within our vast network of makers. Each level is offered a chance to join a virtual meet up where we will all get to know each other. We will also be offering workshops, such as the History of Revolutionary Crafting.
If you are already a monthly donor, we will just slide you into whichever level your gift aligns with. However, we encourage each of you to check out the levels and perhaps increase your gift OR become a monthly donor. Are you an Eleanor Roosevelt, a Molly Rinker, a Sojourner Truth? Oh! Perhaps your a Queen Lili’uokalani? Better go check out their bios! You can learn all about the incentives, gifts, and the incredible women behind the levels by going HERE.

In order to sign up to be a monthly donor, simply use the donate button on the website and be sure to select MONTHLY DONATION on the Colorado Gives page. You can also become a monthly donor by sending a monthly check in the mail (checks = no fees! Yay!) Many of our monthly donors have the bank cut the check each month. Easy peasy.
We can't wait to see you all at the meet ups and I wonder who will win the prize at the end of the year?? Thank you all for your support and if you have any questions please reach out to me at kelly@knitting4peace.org.

Photo: Barbara G. and Cheryl K. with Ms. 5000. Barbara began knitting Peace Pals in 2013 and set a lofty goal of making 5000 Pals. She recently met, and quickly surpassed, that goal. We will make sure that Ms. 5000 finds her way to a special child’s waiting arms. |
| Community Member of the Month: YOU! ALL OF YOU!!
In each newsletter, we feature a “Community Member of the Month” as we often hear that you enjoy learning about the many unique makers and community partners we work with. We would love to highlight each and every one of you as it is our work TOGETHER that has created this vibrant community we call Knitting4Peace.
We could easily write an article every day of the year, featuring one of our many makers, Peace Pods, Community Partners, or financial contributors. If you are reading this newsletter, please know that you are a valued member of the Knitting4Peace community!
We wish that you could all be privy to the lovely emails and cards we receive from our makers and contributors. It is very heartwarming and such a powerful reminder that there are so many wonderful, loving, and caring people in our world. Whether you regularly send in handmade items, share in your local community, or send an occasional baby blanket, Peace Pal, or other item, please know how very much we honor and appreciate you! |

Have you visited the new website yet? We are continuing to update our guidelines on items we accept. However, if you see anything that seems unusual or does not make sense, please do not hesitate to let us know. If you do not see an item listed, please contact us before sending it in.
We have had quite an increase in donations of yarn and knitting supplies lately. We truly appreciate that you think of us and we do our best to pass along donations to individuals who need them. Unfortunately, we have VERY limited space available for storage, so encourage you to find organizations in your community that can make use of any knitting/crocheting supplies you no longer need. For your convenience, we have prepared a list of organizations that welcome donations. Go HERE to view. If you know of other groups, please send the name with contact information to jo@knitting4peace.org and we will be happy to include them!

Cold Weather Items & Small Baby Blankets |
| |
|
Thank you!!
You have been so great at sending in items we specifically request. This was especially true with our requests for scarves and small blankets. This past month we were actually able to fully meet the small/NICU blanket requests we received. Yay! As always, we gratefully accept all the items listed on our website but we do appreciate it when you respond to our calls for items that are in short supply. Although it is May, it’s not too early to be thinking of the need for cold weather items as we want to be proactive about meeting the requests we receive. Keep those WARM scarves, hats, and mittens coming and know that they will be warming heads and hearts this fall when we send them out to organizations and individuals in need. Thank you so much! Remember, you can always track your package with your carrier. Remember, mailing costs qualify as tax-deductible nonprofit donations. Keep your receipts! Due to a lack of storage, K4P cannot accept yarn donations unless they are new and still in the original wrapper. Thank you for understanding. |
